If you think you don’t like jazz, think again.

Jazz Coterie is a curated, pop-up, live music concert series setting out to showcase the finest classic and contemporary jazz artists from across the state, the country, and the globe. Through diverse programming, we seek to explore the foundation and future of this ever-evolving genre. And to have a great time doing it!

We are also committed to working with area high-schools and universities to offer music students opportunities for master class learning and experiencing live jazz performance. For more about those initiatives, visit our education page.

Jazz is a quintessential American art form. Born of African-American and European-American parentage it is woven into our history, culture and DNA. Of course there are the jazz greats — from Ella Fitzgerald to Miles Davis . . . Louis Armstrong to John Coltrane. But jazz has influenced nearly every musician in the western hemisphere since its inception — from Jimmy Rodgers to Amy Winehouse . . . Bob Dylan to Billie Eilish. It’s the blurring and bending of boundaries that makes jazz beautiful. 

Jazz is ubiquitous, yet there are relatively few venues dedicated to the live experience. And thus, the Jazz Coterie was born. We invite you to join the Jazz Coterie in common pursuit of the jazz experience.

The Waters @ Oshkosh Yacht Club – Oshkosh

This elegant Georgian Revival was built in 1903 for the Oshkosh Yacht Club by noted architect Willam Waters. It is still home to the OYC and regarded as one of the finest clubhouses in the Midwest. 

GREAT NORTHERN DISTILLING – STEVENS POINT

SOON TO OPEN AN EXCITING NEW LOCATION in downtown Stevens Point! Great Northern Distilling is a Wisconsin based craft distillery focused on making small batch, exceptionally smooth spirits from fresh ingredients sourced locally. Their mixologists are the finest in Central Wisconsin. Jazz Coterie is proud to partner with GND and be one of the first events to help swing open the doors to their new event room in early 2023!

GIBSON MUSIC HALL – APPLETON

Gibson Community Music Hall is located in the historic Gibson building in the heart of downtown Appleton. Built in 1931 as an automobile dealership using classic "Machine Age" Art Deco style, as is still seen today. Gibson Music Hall is a top-notch live music venue showcasing original music artists representing a variety of genres. We’re glad Dave’s fond of jazz, too!

NORTH SHORE GOLF CLUB – MENASHA

This private club is located on the beautiful northern shore of Lake Winnebago and opens its doors to Jazz Coterie in the Fall and Winter seasons. North Shore Golf Club first opened on July 4, 1930. Here you'll experience the best golf course in the Fox Valley area and one of the most elegant, Tudor-style clubhouses anywhere.

THE HOWARD – OSHKOSH

The Howard is a historic landmark. Fully restored and reopened in 2018, the building features a coffee bar cafe, boutique bowling alley, and an opulent ballroom and great hall that accommodates live entertainment and specialty dining. Originally designed in 1927 by architect Henry Auler, the Old English/Tudor Revival-style building totals 33,000 square feet and three floors. The interior boasts 25-foot-high vaulted ceilings alongside original stained glass accents and handcarved crown moldings.

Stevens Point Country Club – Stevens Point
